A Letter to Our Community

Friends,

We are excited to announce the formation of Melcher Boling Cares, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Daniel Melcher and Ryan Boling. As dedicated members of the WesternNew York hospitality community, we believe in the importance of giving back to the communities that have supported us.

The formation of Melcher Boling Cares began after Daniel and Ryan co-chaired a Miami Vice-themed fundraiser on June 13, 2024, at Rec Room, supporting P.U.N.T. Pediatric Cancer Collaborative. The event raised over $57,000 in its first year, and the success inspired Daniel and Ryan to become more involved in giving back to the community. Melcher Boling Cares aims to raise funds for local charities by hosting exciting events throughout the year.

Dan Melcher currently is the General Manager of Rec Room in Downtown Buffalo. While he holds an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, his passion for the hospitality industry inspired him to change career paths, with no intention of leaving. Mentored by Buffalo's hospitality and entertainment experts, Dale Segal and Chris Ring, Dan worked his way up from managing the front door at Rec

Room to overseeing all operational aspects of the venue. He takes pride in creating memorable experiences, ensuring that everyone who visits the Rec Room becomes a loyal, repeat guest.

Ryan is currently the General Manager at The Oak Stave in East Amherst, NY, with nearly a decade of experience in the hospitality industry. He is a graduate of Buffalo State University in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Administration, along with double minors in Political Science and Communications. Ryan began his career at SEAR Steakhouse in downtown Buffalo. He transitioned to Salvatore's, where he had a transformative five-year management tenure, playing an integral role in launching Perla Seafood Bistro. Additionally, he served as the Director of Operations for the Erie County Republican Committee from 2020 to 2023, where he spearheaded strategic fundraising goals.
